Didn't those guys realize that Sonic's speed allows him to run around things like that before the effects of gravity can take over? Oh well, nothing to do but watch and wait.

Personally, I'd find the nearest pair of magnetised boots and make sure There was no way I'd fall off. Dizziness is only a minor set-back.
