The handrails happened to be in the worst spot...it covers up all the characters' facial expressions.

I was flipping through random authors I fav'ed and Shard is fav'ed to your comic. Feel honored that the author of {Mute} enjoys your drama packed stupidity

I'm just sitting around

Come to think of it, a lot of authors have big time sprite comics have fav'ed your comic but for some reason average spriters don't enjoy this and would call this comic boring, when it most certainly not (at least not in the long term)

stpcomics, September 26th, 2010, 1:27 pm

@ ClareSilver47 I actually don't read any other comics on SmackJeeves, so I've never heard of "Mute."

And I get mixed messages about the second part of your comment. Does that mean my comic is uninteresting? Is that why I never seem to have more than four or five people commenting on comics each week?

Ghost (Guest), September 27th, 2010, 8:43 am

I like it!

ClareSilver47, September 27th, 2010, 10:21 am

No, I mean that the comic is rather slow without any action nor very interesting effects. you comic is completely plot based, which is why the average Smackjeever would not enjoy such a comic.
DHK1989, for example, is the author the most popular sprite comic. The comic itself is action based where Mario, Sonic and Megaman battle.

Also, there really isn't much to talk about on each update, so the people commenting has to comment when something is revealed. However, don't change the nature of this comic, the comic as a whole is very good.
(Though I highly suspect 80% of the people fav'ed to this comic just lurk)

as of this comment, this comic has reached 198 favs, only 2 more for celebration

@ ClareSilver47 I wonder if that means SmackJeeves isn't a good place for me to set up shop. I moved here because it was made for comic strips, and gave me features I couldn't code for my own website. But if not here, then where?

And I never much cared for those fighting/battle comics. The core of my comic is the plot of advancing through the levels, and the interactions of the characters along the way.

There's also the advertising bit. The only way to get attention is to spam comics to get on the front page, get donator status and get spotlightedonthewhateveritscalled, spam tags so that you get in similar comics bar or become easily searchable, or be referred.
Or get involved with the community, automatically advertising your stuffs to curious people.
Other webcomic sites shouldn't be much different.

ClareSilver47, September 28th, 2010, 1:58 pm

Places where you can advertise/get some attention:
Comics:
Shameless Advertising
We Review Comics

Other:
Go in the forums and post up a spotlight thread for your comic. Only allowed one bump per month

Alffitrate with other comics. I understand you have a lot, but alffitrating with other comics enable people to find your comic

Also, cleaning out dead links will be helpful, 4 of your links are dead because the websites do not exist anymore

stpcomics, September 28th, 2010, 2:14 pm

@ ClareSilver47 Normally I don't make posts in forums advertising my comic because I don't like to toot my own horn. But if you think it'll bring me more readership, I'll look into it.

And I'm always open for affiliation, though I haven't gotten requests about it in some time. And thank you for bringing the dead links to my attention...it's a shame that this comic tends to outlive those I affiliate with.
